To help break the cycle of generational fatherlessness through building relationships, assessing strengths and needs, and developing/implementing coaching plans for fathers at risk or currently impacted by the dependency system.
Reports to:
Fatherhood Engagement/Preservation Specialist
Responsibilities:
? Maintain regular, weekly communication and/or face-to-face contact with program participants ? Assist fathers in identifying their strengths ? Develop customized coaching plan for each program participant based on individual strengths and goals ? Connect fathers to services such as recreational activities, housing, food, clothing, school programs, career opportunities, life skill service providers, relevant mental health services, and activities that will enhance their emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being ? Maintain working knowledge of service providers and support available to fathers at risk or currently in the dependency system ? Provide accountability and promote timely completion of coaching plan ? Provide accountability and promote timely completion of court-appointed classes (if applicable) including, but not limited to, anger management, parenting, and financial literacy classes, substance abuse treatment, college and/or trade school courses ? Facilitate and lead small group and individual coaching meetings utilizing Man Up and Go curriculum and coaching tools ? Assist in planning and leading group activities with goals of exposing program participants to new life experiences and/or career opportunities ? Recruit and lead team of volunteer coaches ? Track and document activities and communication pertaining to coaching plans, coaching meetings, and volunteer engagement ? Assist in compiling and submitting applicable monthly reports to Fatherhood Engagement/Preservation Specialist including state mandated compliance and metrics ? Help ensure annual program goals are met or exceeded in a timely fashion ? Meet annual goals as outlined in organizational and personal objectives ? Identify and provide emergency crisis services as necessary ? Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned ? Pray for the work of Man Up and Go ? Participate in weekly/monthly staff meetings ? Willingness to commit to personal and professional development including, but not limited to, participation in organizational continuing education Time Investment:
? Full-time, salaried position ? 12-month employee Requirements:
? Experience working with children impacted by trauma (experience working in dependency system preferred) ? Program management, social services, and/or nonprofit experience preferred ? Bachelor's Degree preferred ? Proven track record of mentoring and leading men to desired outcomes ? Commitment to vision, mission, and values of Man Up and Go ? Available weekends and evenings as needed Competencies:
